A highly modern athlete, Cachas attracted attention for his movement as well as for his jumping ability at the Neumünster stallion licensing. He moves very well with energetic strides and plenty of thrust and impulsion from behind. His jumping ability is consistent with his bloodline. His sire Caretino and his 2nd sire Corrado I are unquestionably among the most successful stallions from the Cor de la Bryère sire line. Further back, his dam’s bloodline includes Lord and Landgraf I, the best stallions from the Ladykiller TB sire line.
Cachas’ sire Caretino was a successful sport horse himself and has sired many sport horses. Ballerina, winner of team gold at the Mannheim European championships in 1997 with Markus Merschformann is one of the most successful, Charlottenhof’s Chandra, which took home team bronze at the Arnheim European championships in 2001 with Sören von Rönne, is just as successful. Over the last years, other Caretino offspring have attracted attention because of their great success in high-profile competition like for example Cristallo, under Richard Spooner the world’s highest earning horse in 2012 (no.1 in the WBFSH ranking). For the time being, Casall Ask under Rolf-Göran Bengtsson is the most successful licensed Caretino son.
Corrado I, the sire of his dam Pericula, was a high-achieving international show jumper under Franke Sloothaak. In the Holsteiner breeding programme he sired a great number of successful international show jumpers like Clinton, a stallion which fi nished 4th at the 2004 Athens Olympics with Dirk Demeersman, and Corradina. The mare and her rider Carsten-Otto Nagel won team gold at the Kentucky WEG in 2010 and individual silver and team gold at the Madrid European championships in 2011. In 2013, the two of them took home another team silver at the Herning (DK) European championships with Carsten-Otto Nagel winning the ”rider of the year” award.
The 2010 competition season saw Cachas win 14 young show jumper classes at L and M level as well as the 6-year-old show jumper state championship qualifi er under Janne Friederike Meyer. At the Warendorf Bundeschampionat, Cachas qualifi ed for the fi nal by fi nishing 2nd in the first and winning the second qualifi er class. In 2011, the stallion successfully debuted at S level in youngster classes. He continued his success, capturing wins in jumper classes at S* level with his rider Janne Friederike Meyer. Cachas has also won several S level jumper classes under his new rider Thomas Konle in 2013. Cachassini by Cachas was premium graded at the Neumünster stallion licensing in 2011.
He was 30-day tested with exceptional marks in München Riem in 2012, scoring 10.0 for jumping ability, 9.25 for character, 9.0 for canter, 8.63 for rideability, and 8.0 for trot and walk, respectively. His offspring presented at the 2013 stallion grading at Neumünster stood out as strikingly modern with great movement and quality jumping, with two of his sons licensed for breeding.
From his first crop, several offspring have already won jumper classes to M level and qualified for the Warendorf Bundeschampionat.
