Information om hingsten
Breeder Frank Gillen, 68519 Viernheim
Size 172 cm
Boasting exquisitely modern shape, Baracuda is an own son of international top jumper Baloubet du Rouet. The athletic appearance of this very modern stallion is characterised by his expressive face, his alert eyes and his good lines.
Baracuda’s chestnut colour and blood horse appearance are a refl ection of his bloodline which boasts several crosses to Rantzau, a French TB stallion known for his ability to stamp his offspring, over four generations.
His way of going is very regular and his balance increases as he develops more and more power from behind. His jumping is very good, very reliable and always focused, with a particularly striking hind leg technique. Baracuda’s dam, district premium mare Miss Cosma, has already produced
offspring with achievements to S level. Her sire is the important breeding stallion Contender. This exceptional stallion’s offspring are on everybody’s lips, primarily due to his internationally successful sons Montender under Marco Kutscher, Checkmate with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum,
Carlo under Sergio Alvares Moya, and Collin, three-time winner of the Hamburg Jumping Derby with Toni Haßmann. Both 3rd sires on the dam’s side of his pedigree, Constant and Cinzano, two highly successful sport and breeding stallions, are by Cor de la Bryère.
His sire Baloubet du Rouet is considered as one of the most successful sport horses. Under his rider Rodrigo Pessoa, he took home the gold medal at the Athens Olympics in 2004 and won the world cup fi nal three times in a row. Baloubet du Rouet heads the WBFSH jumper sire rating also in 2013.
Other representatives of this mare family, line 7020, are Caldato which chalked up results at international S level under Hugo Simon and the successful international show jumpers Josephine and Funky Town.
In 2012, he passed the Schlieckau 30-day ability assessment securing a convincing 9.25 jumping score. His canter rating was 8.25 and his character score 8.38. Because of an injury, Baracuda could not be 70-day performance tested. As Barracuda was highly placed in a young jumper class at A level right away at his fi rst outing, he has met the requirements for his future use as a breeding stallion.
His first crop was rated at a breeding value of 127, with the breeding value for gaits and impulsion estimated at 134.
